We are excited to announce that Luke Rutter ‘27 from the Varsity Golf Team is this week’s Athlete of the Week!! Luke had a great performance in the Trojan’s TCIS Conference win over Nansemond-Suffolk, leading the way to a 167-171 win. 

Last Thursday, the Trojans hosted Nansemond-Suffolk, and Luke had one of the best performances in recent memory, shooting a 34 over nine holes, an astounding 2 under par. This marked the first time a player shot under par in Coach Chris Smurthwaite’s time here at Walsingham. This win also marked two other “firsts” for Coach Smurthwaite. It was the first time one of his teams shot under a 170, and the first time all 6 players shot under a 50. It was certainly a great day for the Trojans. 

The Trojans next take on Cape Henry at home at 4:00 pm today, followed by a road trip to take on Norfolk Collegiate tomorrow at 3:30 pm.
