VISUAL ARTS
The Visual Arts program at Walsingham Academy is a comprehensive arts education for all students from Pre-K through 12th Grade, giving students the opportunity to explore different mediums and techniques through a series of different art programs and courses that allow for the growth and development of artistic expression.
Pre-K
In Prekindergarten, students are exposed to cutting and crafts, as they work to build hand-eye coordination and cutting skills. Prekindergartners work with paints, crayons, markers, and molding clay during structured projects and unstructured exploratory time.
Lower School
While in Grades K-5, Lower School students are exposed to the elements and principles of art, working with two- and three-dimensional mediums once per week. Students in grades 6 and 7 have the opportunity to expand their learning by choosing between Studio Art and Graphic Design courses.
Upper School
Numerous courses are available to Upper School Students who wish to cultivate their artistic ability, including drawing, painting, ceramics, print making, photojournalism, and AP Art History.
