On Monday, November 11, 2024, the Walsingham Academy Trojans won the VISAA – DIII State Championship 4-1 against the Veritas School. The action got moving quickly with the first goal being scored in the 5th min by Nick Sarantakos. Veritas would get their lone goal of the match mid-way through the first half on a corner kick to tie the game at 1 all. With less than a minute remaining in the first half the Trojans worked the ball up the field with precision, culminating in another goal from Nick Sarantakos off a pass from Marshall Perry, to put Walsingham up 2-1 going into the half. Marshall Perry would score 5 minutes into the second half to put the Trojans up 3-1. Walsingham’s endurance, possession, and defense would dominate the second half. Nick Sarantakos scored his third and the games final goal with about 15 minutes remaining to play. This is Walsingham Academy’s second Boys Soccer State Championship in 3 years. Go Trojans!
