On Wednesday, ten of our Upper School students attended Diversity Dialogue Day at Virginia Peninsula Community College. This event was sponsored by Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities. The objectives of the day were to increase students understanding of what prejudice is, decrease stereotypic attitudes, and develop an expanded awareness of discrimination and the harmful effects on individuals, groups, and communities.

Our students learned a lot throughout the day by being exposed to many different perspectives. They bring this knowledge back to Walsingham to help other students develop an increased sense of personal empowerment and the recognition of the positive impact they, as individuals and as groups of students, can have on their own schools and communities.
