In a dominant display of pitching and offense, the Walsingham Academy Trojans clinched their seventh consecutive VISAA Division III State Championship on Saturday, defeating Life Christian Academy 11–3. Matthew Swanson delivered a masterful performance on the mound, striking out 12 batters and allowing just five hits and three runs over seven innings, while issuing no walks.
Offensively, the Trojans amassed 11 hits, with Drew Weddington leading the charge. He went 2-for-2, driving in three runs and drawing two walks, while also stealing multiple bases. Daniel Guntherberg contributed significantly, recording three hits in four at-bats and swiping multiple bases. Chandler Howlett and Adams each added multiple hits to the team's total.
Demonstrating patience at the plate, the Trojans drew six walks throughout the game. Defensively, they were flawless, committing no errors. Anthony Ferrie led the team with 13 fielding chances, anchoring the infield with precision.
