Walsingham Academy is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mackenzie Phillips as the new Head Coach of the Trojan Field Hockey Team. With an outstanding career as a player and a proven track record as an assistant coach, Mackenzie brings a wealth of experience and expertise to lead the Trojan’s into a new era of excellence.

A decorated athlete in her own right, Mackenzie has a storied history in the world of field hockey. A two-time All-Star and four-time All-State honoree, she cemented her legacy as a standout player where she played an instrumental role in securing the Davidson College Wildcat champion title, as well as helping her team place Second overall in the ESPN Rise Games. Her dedication, skill, and leadership on the field have made her a respected figure in the sport.

Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Mackenzie has honed her coaching acumen through stints as an assistant coach at Salem Academy and R. J. Reynolds High School, as well as the goalie coach for NC Fusion, all in her hometown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence has been evident in the development of players under her guidance.

Mackenzie brings with her a deep understanding of the game and a passion for developing the next generation of field hockey stars. Her extensive experience and innovative coaching methods promise to elevate the performance of the Trojans to new heights.
