On Sunday, May 19th the Trojan Baseball team captured the state title yet again, while also setting a school record with 25 wins! The accomplishment marks the sixth year in a row the Trojans have won the state title. The 7-0 victory over South Hampton took place at Shepard Stadium in Colonial Heights. “Our pitching was dominant not only in the championship game, but also throughout the entire tournament. We only allowed 4 hits in three games,” said Trojans coach Ian Heisel.

The Trojans (25-8) were fueled by Davis Neighbor on the mound. With a dominant outing, he picked up the win with 6.1innings pitched, 4 strikeouts, and only one hit allowed. Coach Heisel also added, “Along with our pitching, our defense was excellent. We played mistake-free baseball, and it allowed us to be successful."

Offensively the Trojans were led by Luke Harlow, who was 2-3 with one RBI, and Brody Schultz batting 1-2 with two RBI’s.
