Walsingham Academy was chosen by the editors of Virginia Living magazine as one of the best private schools in their State of Education 2020 special section celebrating excellence and innovation in Virginia's schools.
The editors of the magazine cited the beautiful improvements made to Mercy Hall as one of the deciding factors behind Walsingham's inclusion this year.
"The upgrades made to Mercy Hall would have been impossible without the generous contributions made at our auction event last year," Academy president Sister Mary Jeanne Oesterle said. "Walsingham Academy is among the best because we are more than a school—we are a community."
Virginia Living State of Education includes Top Schools & Colleges 2020, a list of more than 160 programs in schools across the entire state leading the way in innovation.
The magazine's editors carefully and thoroughly review each school's programs and accomplishments, selecting schools that have instituted programs or recently begun capital improvements aimed at strengthening students' experience in the classroom, in the field, and in their communities.
The April 2020 issue featuring the State of Education section will arrive on newsstands on March 13.
