The Trojans' varsity field hockey team entered play on Tuesday afternoon at 1-0 on the season after defeating Bruton last week. The Trojans played host to Hampton Roads Academy in a non-conference matchup. The two teams will meet again in early October in their scheduled TCIS game.

The Trojans came out in dominant fashion, controlling the ball for the majority of the first half in which they were able to find the back of the net three times for a commanding 3-0 lead. The second half saw momentum swing back as the Navigators scored once to cut their deficit to two, but the Trojans' defense and goalie Clara Riggs '23 held their opponent off the rest of the way as they went on to secure a 3-1 victory.

Martha Page Norsworthy '20 scored two more goals for the Trojans, giving her four on the season in just two games. Olivia LeJeune '20 also scored for the Trojans, her first of the season. Fellow senior Margie Ehrhardt contributed an assist to the Trojans' veteran attack.

The Trojans will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 5, as they travel to Norfolk Collegiate for a 4:45 p.m. game.
