Strong Team Performance Carries Boys Tennis To Victory

The varsity boys tennis team picked up the first win of their season with a convincing 6-3 defeat of Veritas Collegiate to even their season record at 1-1.

The match got off to a great start in doubles as the Trojans were able pull out two of the three matches. The #2 team of Julian Macheleidt and Jacob Ward raced to an 8-1 win and the #3 team of Ethan Hughes and Alec Rizk performed equally well with a strong 8-1 win.

The singles matches saw all six singles players competing for wins that would ensure the team victory. #2 singles had Declan Miller winning 6-1, 6-2; #4 singles Liam Miller winning 6-3, 6-1; #5 Ethan Hughes winning 6-0, 6-0 and at #6 Alec Rizk won his first varsity singles match 6-0, 6-0.

It was an outstanding team performance by the Trojans and they are looking to build on this win when they play PC this Friday.
