We are thrilled to share that our own Mr. Jeffrey Nicoloff has won the Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution's Teacher of the Year contest!
The award recognized Mr. Nicoloff for "excellence in teaching American history in the Revolutionary War era." The Williamsburg Chapter of the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) also thanked Mr. Nicoloff for his work with their middle school brochure contest that helps promote patriotism and preserving our nation's history.
Additionally, the Sons of the American Revolution has a national competition for the Dr. Tom & Betty Lawrence American History Teacher award. By virtue of winning the state contest, Mr. Nicoloff was a finalist for the national award.
"Mr. Nicoloff has a contagious spirit that he uses to teach his students about history," Lower School Director Mrs. Naswadi said. "He is a wonderful middle school history teacher, one who is eager to make a difference in the lives of his students."
Mr. Nicoloff was recognized virtually for these honors and was surprised with his physical awards during the school day on Thursday, Feb. 25 by the Williamsburg SAR president, Roger Cross.
