Walsingham Academy is proud to welcome Lindsey Torres as the school's new director of advancement. In this role, Lindsey will oversee fundraising, including the Annual Fund, major gifts and planned giving.
Before joining Walsingham, Lindsey worked for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in the planned giving office for nearly nine years. Most recently, Lindsey served as the planned giving operations manager, securing several millions of dollars in outright and planned gifts in support of Colonial Williamsburg's current campaign.
Prior to her time with CW, Lindsey led fundraising efforts for the Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation for several years.
Lindsey has spent the summer settling in here at Walsingham and is eager to help the academy's generous donors continue to create better futures for Walsingham students.
"I've been fortunate in my career to have spent considerable time with the programs I've represented, allowing me to learn about the organization and the donors that support them," Lindsey said. "My approach to fundraising is donor-focused and relationship-oriented. I'm proud to have made a difference for my past employers and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to strengthen Walsingham's donors' connections with the academy, its mission and its students."
"Lindsey brings an abundance of knowledge, years of valuable experience and an array of new ideas that are sure to take the academy's advancement department to new heights," Walsingham Academy President Sister Mary Jeanne Oesterle said. "We are fortunate to have someone who believes in Walsingham's mission out in our community creating new relationships and strengthening existing ones."
