A Sneak Peek At What To Expect At The 49th Annual Auction
A Sneak Peek At What To Expect At The 49th Annual Auction
Walsingham Academy

We are roughly three weeks away from the 2020 auction and the committee is getting very excited!

This year we will sell 75 tickets for $100 each at our "Best of Live" table. This means for only $100 you could win a chance at choosing ANY of the live auction items to be yours! Last year we sold 50 tickets, and they were gone in 22 minutes! Doors open at 6 p.m., so check in at the registration table and then head over to the "Best of Live" volunteer to purchase your chance to win. The tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis, and once they are sold, they are gone! Do not miss this wonderful opportunity to win a fantastic live auction item for a fraction of the cost.

Speaking of live auction, one of our new items this year is a trip to Ireland! You won't want to miss this getaway to Kinsale, Ireland, which includes an eight-day, seven-night stay in a three-bedroom Harbour-view condo, which will host the entire family or several couples if you are looking for an adult trip. Local attractions include fishing, sailing, golf, beautiful driving excursions, and picturesque views.

Back by popular demand, this year's live auction will also feature the lower school "Director of the Day" position where your child has the experience of a lifetime spending the day shadowing our Lower School Director, Mrs. Jena Naswadi. Give your child this amazing opportunity to see the inner workings of the office and the ability to help "run the lower school" for a day.

Does your child love animals? Might they be interested in becoming a vet one day? If so, you can bid on an opportunity for them to spend a day at Godspeed shadowing local veterinarian Britt Cohen and learning what he does each day. This is open to any child aged 10 and over, and the experience will be catered to the child's age level.

Not to be missed is a new item which has been thoughtfully donated by Mrs. Kim Ward and her seventh grade STEM students. Proceeds from 2018's auction afforded the purchase of two 3D printers, and the seventh graders have worked hard to learn TinkerCAD, a 3D software program, and design a set of games including chess, tic-tac-toe, and others which you are certain to enjoy! This unique item is one-of-a-kind, so please visit the VIP table to bid on it!

Last, but certainly not least, we will be offering a River City Food Tour! For those of you who have never heard of it, imagine heading up to Richmond with your significant other or best friend for an afternoon of decadent food tasting! Choice of either Carytown, Church Hill or the Arts District. What could be better than getting a little fresh air and exercise while seeing some beautiful parts of Richmond and experiencing the area's best restaurants? Sounds like a perfect day waiting just for you!
