Prom dress donations being accepted for needy school

Friday, May 02, 2008   (0 Comments)

Walsingham will be collecting prom dresses and other formal dresses to donate to students at St. Labre Indian School in Montana from now until May 16th.

The Catholic school is on an Indian reservation in a very isolated and poor area of Montana. These students have very little, and their school has reached out to us to see if Walsingham Upper School students can share some items that they do not want to use again.

Formal handbags or formal shoes can be donated along with the dresses, which will create a “formal rental closet” at St. Labre. Their students will be able to borrow a dress from the closet to wear for prom, and then return it so that the following year someone else can use it. Donations can be turned into the Upper School main office until May 16.

Thanks for helping to make prom special for students who are less fortunate.
