The Upper School has two Guidance Counselors. Mrs. Jan Brown, the Director of College Counseling, is responsible for juniors and seniors and can be reached by e-mail at jbrown@walsingham.org. The Director of Guidance is Mr. Mark Wilson who is responsible for 8th - 10th graders and can be reached by e-mail at mwilson@walsingham.org. The Guidance Office is located in the front hall of the Upper School. Regular office hours are between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each school day. Appointments with parents and students are also available before and after regular office hours upon request.

Standardized Testing
The ninth graders take the COPSYSTEM which is a comprehensive career assessment. The students meet individually with the guidance counselor who helps explain the results and begins to assess college and career aspirations.
The tenth and eleventh graders take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test in preparation for the SAT.
College Counseling Office & College Planning
Virtually every Walsingham Academy graduate attends a four year college or university following commencement. The College Counselor helps to guide students throughout this application process with individual conferences, college representative presentations and a monthly senior bulletin with admissions, scholarship, open house and other helpful information. There are catalogs, viewbooks, videos, CDs, and the Internet available for students and parents to help select colleges and universities.
Students receive one-on-one college counseling throughout their junior and senior year.
