School Nurses Support Student Success
According to the National Association of School Nurses, school nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and lifetime achievement of students. To that end, school nurses faciltate positive student responses to normal development, promote health and safety, intervene with actual and potential health problems, provide case management services, and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self management, self advocacy, and learning.
Is My Child Well Enough To Go To School?
Walsingham abides by state regulations for the distribution of all medications.
Walsingham Academy students must meet the physical examination and immunization requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Middle and Upper School Students (Grade 6 - 12), who participate in a sport must have an athletic physical examination each year. Physical examinations for the next academic year are offered at school in May. The Walsingham Academy Physical Examination Form may also be completed by a personal physician.
